The economic expert, Bassem Antoine, pointed to the possibility of punishing Lebanese banks with the money of former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, calling on the government to appoint an advisory office to prosecute the money.

Antoine said in an interview with "Economy News" that "the government to prove the return of this money to the Iraqi side and cost a legal advisory office to pursue it, then will force the Lebanese banks to return the money to Iraq."

He added that it is possible that Iraq would deal "differently" with the branches of Lebanese banks in it if it continued to conceal the money, "confirmed" the existence of an international resolution concerning the imposition of fines on Lebanese banks incoherent funds such as sanctions against banks dealing with Iran, will force the first Return all the money. "

Antoine pointed out that "it is possible to use the money recovered in the payment of debts of Iraq and returning to international organizations such as the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank," describing the funds held by Lebanese banks as "the right of all Iraqis."
