Renewed evening demonstrations in Iraq, with heavy gunfire to repress protesters in the center of Najaf

Hundreds of people took to the streets of Najaf, the Shiite capital of Iraq and the world, to protest against demands to improve the deteriorating service and living conditions and provide job opportunities for the unemployed.
Informed media sources from Najaf told Ashqaf News that hundreds of demonstrators took part in demonstrations in the square of the tenth revolution in the center of the city.
The sources added that he heard "heavy" gunfire around the scene in an attempt by Iraqi security forces to disperse the protesters.
The sources added that the protesters tried to storm the headquarters of "Asaib Ahl al-Haq" in the neighborhood of Saad in the center of the city of Najaf, but the guards of the headquarters opened fire towards them.
The sources said that the shooting by the guards killed two demonstrators and injured at least eight others, pointing to the face of the protesters with water hoses and tear gas to disperse them from the headquarters of the group.
Basra, Karbala and Babil have been witnesses to the protests since Friday.
Hundreds of demonstrators stormed the Najaf International Airport on Friday, after which the internal and international traffic was cut off before they withdrew.
The spread of angry protests in Iraq due to poor living conditions and spread to several provinces, while the authorities raised the state of alert and threatened security measures deterred against what they described as "engineers."
