(Reuters) - Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi on Tuesday rejected his government's refusal to re-run parliamentary elections in Iraq.
"There is no turning back and the elections have taken place and a new government must be formed," Abadi told a weekly conference after his cabinet meeting with ministers.
"The cancellation of the elections needs a court order," he said, adding that "it is not the power of the government and the parliament to cancel the election results."
