(Baghdad: Al-Furat News) Economic expert Falah Ahmed al-Lami, that the state will not be able to control the border crossings with the presence of large mafias.

"The Iraqi economy, since 2003 to this day, needs a major strategic planning, a country full of water, good and oil reserves," Lami told the Euphrates News on Monday.

"Iraq is a strategic country located in a very large area bordered by Turkey from the north and Iran from the east, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, and all do not want Iraq to have a large trade to keep imports from abroad," he said.

"Every party in Iraq over the past few years has defended a certain country and the Iraqi economy needs a national vision," he said.

"The private sector has led the economy since 2003 and the country has not been, and despite its neglect, it has operated nearly 2 million young Iraqis," he said.

He recalled that "all commitments to support the private sector should, which forced traders to refrain from trade inside Iraq and go abroad."

On the possibility of control by the government at the border crossings, the economist said, "The state can not control all the border crossings because of large mafias."
