(Baghdad: Al Furat News) The director of the dam of Darbandakhan, on Monday, the low level of water reserves of the dam, this year by half compared to last year.

"Because of the earthquake that hit the district of Darbandikhan, some damage was done to the dam," Rahman Khani said in a press statement.

"Because of these damage, we have not been able to store the water in Derbandikhan dam as necessary, so the level of the water reservoirs of the dam has declined compared to last year," he added.

It is noteworthy that Iraq has been suffering for years from the low levels of water Tigris and Euphrates, which depend on them to secure drinking water and irrigated crops.
