BAGHDAD (Reuters) - The Central Bank of Iraq (CBE) announced Thursday its foreign currency sales fell to 154.17 million dollars from 157.56 million dollars on Thursday, down 3.39 million dollars .

"The exchange rate reached 1190 dinars per dollar, in the auction held with the participation of 35 banks and two financial transfer companies," the Central Bank said in a statement read by the economy news .

"The total sales for the day amounted to about 210.97 million dollars, " the bank said.

Amounts sold to strengthen bank balances abroad were $ 152.55 million, while cash sales were estimated at $ 1.62 million .

The Central Bank, according to the statement, "The sale of amounts transferred to the accounts of banks abroad at the price of 1190 dinars per dollar, while the cash sale will be at the same price. "
