The leader of the Sadrist movement Moqtada al-Sadr, on Monday, his followers with what he called "save Iraq" from the corrupt.

In a response to a question about participating in the upcoming elections, Sadr said: "Save Iraq with your votes, patriots, and not lost in the hands of corrupt people."

It is noteworthy that official international reports classified Iraq as the world's leading in terms of the spread of administrative and financial corruption in its government institutions.

The next parliamentary elections are due to take place in Iraq on May 12.
