Economy News _ Baghdad

A member of the parliamentary economic committee Najeeb Najib, on Monday, that the proportion of 14% of the budget that has been circulated to the media, will not solve the problems of the economic region, and not enough even for salaries of employees of Kurdistan.

Najib said in a press statement received by "Economy News" that "the proportion of the 14% announced by the budget to solve the problems of Kurdistan, which is not something new and bear the treatment or solution to the problem of Kurdistan in the budget."

"When the budget came to the parliament, it included a text that included determining the percentage of Kurdistan according to the population census and reviewing the statistics of the Ministry of Planning showed that the population of Iraq is 39 million people and the population of the region, 14%."

"If the budget is translated, the region will be 14 percent, and this is not new," she said. "There is no approval by the federal government to increase this percentage."

She pointed out that "what is specified for the region is not enough to pay the salaries of employees, because Kurdistan needs 10 trillion and 500 billion Iraqi dinars and 14% will be 7.2 trillion dinars, and this percentage does not cover the needs of Kurdistan to pay the salaries of employees."

The MP wished that "the Prime Minister, Haider Abadi listen to the demands of Kurdish blocs and pay the salaries of the region's staff of 10 trillion and 500 billion dinars."
