The Council of Turkish Exporters announced on Saturday that the volume of jewelry exports has increased significantly in the past few years, noting that Iraq imported more than 600 million dollars in 2017.

According to the agency, "Anatolia", "Turkey's exports of jewelry amounted to 3.3 billion dollars last year, an increase of 60% in the past five years."

He added that "the UAE topped the list of importers of jewelry from Turkey in 2017 billion dollars, followed by Iraq with 652 million dollars, while Hong Kong replaced the third with 162 million dollars."

"Turkey has the largest production capacity in this sector, in terms of Europe and the Middle East," said the president of the Association of Jewelery Exporters. "Turkey is second only to India in global jewelry production and ninth in export.

"We produce goods according to international standards, we have no problem, and we aim to make Turkey the largest jewelry distribution center in Europe and the Middle East," he said.

He pointed out that "the number of delegations of importing companies has increased steadily in the last three years, as a result of tariff efforts in the jewelry sector, especially through exhibitions and marketing activities."
