On December 5, MP Nassif revealed the Ministry of Commerce's intention to contract a "bad wheat-like bad rice" deal, demanding that the prime minister, the Integrity Commission and the Trade Inspector General conduct an investigation into the deal.

Dr. Ardalan Noureddine, a member of the Parliamentary Integrity Committee of the Iraqi Parliament, recently confirmed to Basnews that the rates of corruption "reached an unimaginable level."
