A spokesman for the international coalition against the US-led Zahed organization said Tuesday that coalition estimates indicate that less than 3,000 al-Qaeda fighters are still in Iraq and Syria.

"Current estimates are that there are still less than 3,000 Da'ash fighters still posing a threat, but we will continue to support the forces of our partners to defeat them," US Army Col. Ryan Dillon said on Twitter.
