"If the Iraqi government does not approve the allocation of 17 percent of the budget and prevent the payment of the share of the province from the sovereign allocations, it has to spend 12.67 percent of the Iraqi budget and without cutting the sovereign allocations of 13 trillion dinars," the parliament said in a statement received by Alsumaria News. He continued that "the Kurdistan region to carry out radical reforms in the ongoing institutions, imports and expenses and the number of employees," and recommended the provincial government to "insist on the stabilization of 17% of the Kurdistan region within the Iraqi budget, such as 2005-2013, which amounts to 11 trillion dinars."
On November 6, 2017, the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) considered a draft budget law 2018 aimed at "marginalizing the constitutional entity" of the region, while it showed that 12.6% "is not enough to pay the salaries of one province" in the region.
