pledged to Prime Minister Haider al - Abadi , on Tuesday, not to give up the unity of Iraq , stressing that his government would impose federal sovereignty in accordance with the Constitution, as pointed out that the territory of the leaders of Kurdistan did not listen to local, regional and international appeals regarding the referendum held yesterday.

"The government will impose its federal sovereignty according to the constitution, and we will not give up the unity and sovereignty of Iraq," Abadi said during his weekly press conference attended by Alsumaria News.

"The leaders of the Kurdistan region have not listened to local, regional and international appeals about the unconstitutional referendum," Abadi said.

On Monday, September 25, 2017, Iraq responded to the ballot boxes to vote in a referendum on the secession of the Kurdistan region as an independent state from Iraq, despite the rejection of Baghdad, regional states and the international community, as well as Kurdish parties.
