the stars on our profiles

just was wondering whats up with the stars
under our names
are we being labeled or categorized or something?
some people don't have any at all
the mods have all of them.
anyone know?

The stars designate how many posts, and probablyhow often you make them- Ask KATT-She's a moderator, and she could answer your question better than I could-Mine was just a guess-

They are there to show your status as far as the number of posts you have and the quality of your posts. So if you are good you get more stars but if you are bad the mods can take them all away. I noticed though that after a bit you get four stars then all of a sudden you get dropped back to two then when you hit 100 posts you get them all. There seems to be a glitch in the star system at the mid point of your posting career. Don't worry though you will get them back unless you were bad.

Justpassntime-Thanks for the clarification- I was not familiar with the star system-now I understand how that works-I think.

Another thing I've noticed is the labels such as "Fanatic" and "Expert" and I believe when you reach a certain 'level' and move on to the next, your stars more than likely reset and you start all over. I have no idea which way the ladder of titles goes or how many levels there are but it seems that at one point I had quite a few stars and now not as many. :geek:

I also noticed that I never see 5 or 6 stars
maybe the system is not really working that great.
