Tokyo agrees to lend Baghdad $ 2.1 billion to develop the Basra refinery

It announced the Basra Governorate Council, on Monday, for the Japanese government agreed to lend Iraq $ 2.1 billion to develop the Basra refinery, and revealed that the loan will be repaid in 40 years W and an interest rate of 2%, as he emphasized that the loan will be invested to establish several projects in the Basra refinery expires in 2020 .
The head of the Oil and Gas Committee of the Board Ali Shaddad said in an interview to the (long-Presse), "The Japanese government has agreed to give Iraq a loan of two billion and 100 million dollars to implement a number of projects for the rehabilitation of the Basra refinery oil," noting that "the payment of the loan will be within a period of 40 years and an interest rate of 2%. "
He said Shaddad, that "allocated from the Japanese loan amounts will invest in the implementation of a set of vital and strategic projects in the Basra refinery, will be completed by 2020," pointing out that "these projects include hydrogenation gas oil card project of up to 20 thousand barrels per day, and the project cracker unit Catalytic (FCC), which is the largest of its kind within the liquidation projects. "
He said Shaddad, that "these projects are designed to bring production at the refinery to about 4,500 tons of reformulated gasoline, and about 27 thousand barrels of fuel oil, 40 thousand barrels of gas oil hydrogenated day, within the international standards, in addition to the production of 500 tons of liquid gas ".
The Iraqi Council of Ministers decided, at the (July 19, 2016), to approve the development of the Basra refinery and add two hydrogenation, and address the Japanese government for a loan for the second installment of the project.
