If you were to ask Garry where Zimbabwe is going to get the money to pay for the Zim Notes, his usual reply is that Zimbabwe is rich with resources of gold and diamonds, in the ground.

How come they don't already use those in-ground reserves for exchanging currencies?

How about all the oil in the ground in Iraq, Venezuela, and Iran. Are they backing their currency with oil still in the ground?
