Not a stupid question at all! And it's pretty complicated, but as I understand it - it's when a country prints more money because it needs more money. But this obviously makes the money worth less than before so in the long run it doesn't really help. It's a short-term "fix" if you believe it actually fixes things.
Plz correct me if I'm wrong here, everyone. Definitely not an expert - just trying to help.

the US has done QE1 and QE2 and everyone was looking for the QE3 but so far they say no....very glad...this wont help our economy....just makes the dollar worth less and less
