US State Department ruled out, any role can be played by Washington to mediate between Saudi Arabia and Iran, at the same time condemning the attacks on the Saudi diplomatic facilities in Iran.

The spokesman for the US State Department, John Kirby, in a statement from the ministry's headquarters in Washington for his country's desire for countries to end the state of tension between them.

Kirby said, "We condemn the attacks on the Saudi diplomatic property in Iran," adding: "We take attacks on diplomatic facilities seriously."

He continued: "We are following reports that he had been arrested some of the perpetrators of these attacks, and we urge the Iranian government to fully respect its international obligations to protect the headquarters of missions."
In a letter to the UN Security Council, the Iranian mission to the United Nations expressed "unfortunately" Tehran after the attack on the diplomatic missions Saudetyn in Tehran and Mashhad.

In another development, the Arab League decided to convene an extraordinary meeting at the level of Arab foreign ministers, next Sunday, at the request of Saudi Arabia, to condemn the Iranian violations of the sanctity of its embassy in Tehran and its consulate in Mashhad, and its interference in the internal affairs of Arab countries.
