Chat Room issues

I updated my java program and still can not access the chat page .. does anyone else have this issue ??? or just me.

Hi AndreRomine, I am glad you able to log into the forum. I was just looking into that when I saw your post here. I have not had any issues logging into chat. You may have to wait a little bit for it load? I know on my other computer, it takes a little longer than usual. Any one else having issues?

oh its not a waiting thing, its the flash player i downloaded the update and installed, restarted computer and still says i need the update. I run a chat server on IRC if you would like to try that loading a mibbit file on your site and comes with zero issues

Grrr. Now that is frustrating! I am sorry you are having troubles. Well, no worries for now. No one in chat but our dear Saint. Who I think has gone for a coffee break. I will work on the issue this evening. For now, I have to run but will be back later.

YOu may have to try a full download of flash player. I have seen frequent issues with flash updates, especially with the newer versions of windows.

TBH: Im very weary what I put on my computer for updates. I did that once and it was a windows 8 update for my browser and it screwd up my desktop mode I had to reset to factory settings to get my computer working right again. :( this is why I offered my IRC server for a chat plat form for people here if the admin would like to try it out. IRC may be old school but I still recommend it for user interface and users have wide set of services ( all free ) and total control over there channels they register

Yes, I am familiar with IRC chat, I used to moderate some IRC rooms. The issue may be the server. I don't know if our host here will support IRC. Perhaps it could be run on another server. I have had no problems running Firefox on any of our computers which are running XP Pro, Windows 7 Media Edition, Windows 8 Home and Windows 8 Pro. Flash downloads have been problematic on a regular basis, and one or two Java downloads. BTW, I forgot till I just went and tried it, but the chat room uses Java. I keep Java restricted due to security issues, but the room loaded fine for me.

I have the IRCd already running on a Linux box. All I would do is write a mibbit program give the code here HTML ... and load it on the page then it would be set to goto my server and a room I have set up

Speaking of computer problems, I couldn't get on this site yesterday. It's bookmarked, but instead of coming here, I had a note wanting to redirect me to index. Clicked on that & nothing happened. I could get on using Iphone. Rebooted computer, typed in address.... nothing worked. Whatever. Today is a new day and everything works fine.
