The Ministry of Oil: Baghdad and Erbil agreement is not a final solution

Oil Ministry announced that the agreement between the governments in Baghdad and Erbil, whereby the federal government transferred $ 500 million to the Government of the Region in the recent development of 150 thousand barrels of crude oil per day at the disposal of the Federal Government.

The Ministry pointed out that "the federal government and the government of the region, had already reached in 2014 and the years that preceded it, many times, the agreements did not find their way to the application, or applied for a short period and then stopped, pointing out that the last attempts what has been agreed in a joint meeting Minutes between the two parties in the April 21, 2014 provides for direct pumping of the oil produced by the region (50) thousand barrels a day through the Iraqi-Turkish line and (50) thousand barrels per day through the production system in the Zab region.

And the ministry showed that the correspondence between the two sides continued in this regard, and almost up to the result, but high uncertainty, and the accumulation of requirements and monounsaturated accounts, led to a final stop in the July 8, 2014, according to official books

The Ministry pointed out that the difference in 2014 led to the Iraqi treasury loss of oil production from the region, exports and the loss of territory to the receipt of dues from the general budget, in addition to the loss of production of Kirkuk, starting from March 2014, after being destroyed by terrorism, oil pipelines, tanker, and seizing some of the fields and facilities .

The ministry stressed the need to restore an atmosphere of trust and mutual cooperation building, which resulted in the recent agreement, "noting that" 500 million dollars, which will be transferred to the Government of the Territory, and 150 thousand barrels per day, which will be handed over the federal government does not constitute a final solution, not the cause of mutual benefits, not to the issue of exports and production, but also opens the way for the start of the development of a comprehensive, just and constitutional solutions to all outstanding matters.
