FEDERAL COURT SHUTS DOWN NORTH CAROLINA TAX PREPARER
Elm City Man Promoted “Concept Marketing International” Tax Scam

WASHINGTON – A federal court has permanently barred Raymond A. Renfrow of Elm City, N.C., from preparing federal income tax returns for others, the Justice Department announced today. The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina entered the civil injunction order, which also stops Renfrow from promoting a tax fraud scheme that used sham trusts to falsely deduct customers’ non-deductible personal expenses. The court found that Renfrow prepared tax returns for customers that have caused an estimated loss to the U.S. Treasury of more than $1.4 million.

The court said that Renfrow’s false tax returns were based on three tax schemes he promoted for Concept Marketing International (CMI), a company that operated a multi-level marketing scheme involving the sale of American Eagle silver coins. The court stated that the tax schemes falsely purported to enable participants to take tax deductions for the cost of coins they bought, to deduct non-deductible personal living expenses, and to use sham trusts to exempt income and assets from taxation.
James E. Aldridge Jr., a founder of CMI, was found guilty of tax-related criminal charges in 2007 by a federal jury in Kansas City, Mo. He is currently serving a prison sentence.
The court found that CMI’s trust scheme was promoted in conjunction with Trust Education Services and National Trust Services. Information on injunctions involving those businesses is available at http://www.usdoj.gov/tax/prtax/txdv03332.htm and http://www.usdoj.gov/tax/txdv04081.htm.

The court also required Renfrow to give the Justice Department a list of his customers’ names, addresses, e-mail addresses and Social Security numbers.

John DiCicco, Acting Assistant Attorney General for the Justice Department’s Tax Division, thanked former Tax Division trial attorney Frederick Noyes, who handled the case for the government, and Kathy A. Grimaldi, a revenue agent with the Internal Revenue Service’s Small Business/Self-Employed Division, who investigated the case.

Over the past decade, the Justice Department has obtained injunctions against more than 380 tax return preparers and tax-fraud promoters. Information about these cases is available on the Justice Department Web site.

The Freemasons don't want scammers in their organization:

“I have been a long observer of the dinar scam and am also a freemason….and I am very disheartened to see TNT Tony’s brother is a freemason. I just wanted to let everyone know that this kind of scamming is ***NOT*** something freemasons endorse or condone, and if Ray Renfrow were a member of my order I would do everything I could to get him expelled for conduct unbecoming a mason.

The lodge he is a member of is under the Prince Hall Grand Lodge of North Carolina, a historically African American lodge that is recognized as mainstream by the standard bearer of freemasonry, the United Grand Lodge of England (UGLE). The way freemasonry works is we can only get involved in members of our own order, if someone is in another mainstream order there is no way to do anything about it.

However, the general public can do something about this if there is any interest. Ray’s involvement in the dinar scam falls under a category of misconduct so severe it is more than enough to get him expelled from the order. But the lodge has to know about it, I would bet they are unaware. I HIGHLY ENCOURAGE everyone to email the Prince Hall Grand Lodge of North Carolina and inform them that they have a member who is involved in fraud: office@mwphglnc.com (their fax/address is on their website as well, which is http://www.mwphglnc.com). If they get complaints they will investigate and expel him.

I called the office of the judge who signed the permanent injunction order (Flanagan in North Carolina) and I was informed that the judge's office would not reopen a case, that I had to take it to an attorney, blah, blah, blah. I called three different phone numbers of people involved with the case, or their offices if they were no longer there. I was always told they would not take up the case and was given another number.

If you have had a different experience, please share it.

That is why I kept searching for a government office who said that they would act on a tip. The one above TAX.MAIL@USDOJ.gov
and the FTC complaints dept 1-877-FTC-HELP or online https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/#crnt&panel1-3
that seemed interested at all or willing to take this info.

Makes one wonder just how many 'Freemasons' are or could be involved for their own personal gain- Would love to see more about that, If there IS more-I don't think RayRay is the only one-There is MORE corruption going on than anyone really knows-Take our government, for example-
