I thought I'd create a lighthearted post on what people are doing (or not doing) for Easter dinners.

Some of us (like here in Canada) also celebrate Good Friday as well as Easter Sunday.

So I will start.

I will probably do a meatless day for Good Friday. it was my mother's tradition as she was Ukrainian.  Perogies and maybe a white fish.

Sunday I will cook a small turkey (not sure I will stuff it yet) and enjoy it with garlic mashed potatoes, my special turkey gravy and green beans.  I might roast a turkey kolbasa on the BBQ and have that as snacks and appetizers while relaxing outside if it's warm enough or maybe catch a flick on Netflex.  All served with a California Beringer Cab or Beringer White Zinfandel (not sure why they call it white when it's rose')

I'm not a huge dessert fan unless it's really good pie, so I might just pass or have the black cherry and chocolate frozen yogurt.  It depends on how much turkey I stuff myself with... Very Happy

We're joining friends for Easter, not sure what the whole menu will be but I'll be bringing the mashed ... probably with a little garlic and Parmesan.

Good Friday I will be going out and getting all I need for my Easter Sunday dinner. Friday evening I will be ushering at my church for the evening service. Easter Sunday I will be entertaining my son , grandson, and whoever he brings as a date. Dinner will consist of a nice pork roast with a brown gravy, served with fresh buttered red potatoes and a green bean casserole. A nice Merlot from the Washington state will be served. The grandson will have a nice grape chilled beverage from Welches, Smile. Dessert will be up to my son.
Bon Appetit.   :uyhj:

Kevin, do you use the powder parm in your potatoes when you mash them or grade real cheese?

Saint, what is a green bean casserole?  question

Fresh grated of course .... my own personal thing, but I avoid pork for Easter out of respect for my Jewish ancestors. Not a big deal, but ...

I decided to steal Saint's idea and do the ruby red (gems) baby potatoes instead. I saw them at the store when picking up the turkey and thought....what a simpler idea.

Thank you Saint for the recipe. I might alter it a bit or I might make it another time when I have more people over. It's just me and the pup this time. Sis is off to the US to get me a Le Creuset Braiser.
