the CBI was doing a form of OMO [Open Market Operations] for the past several years, this is just a new twist (in which the CBI steps back from the money supply) which is more in line with other central banks around the world. And after that will be another when they introduce the bonds, etc. In other words, the CBI is phasing in little by little until they are functioning like all other central banks.
