and hurt his 72 year old head. I see KARMA written all over this. I don't wish pain on anybody, but then again OKIE isn't anybody. He's NOTHING !!!! Don't like my comment ? TUFF

T - Actually I gave you a big hint, bigger than you'll ever know. Some serious bad news: I usually talk to Okie several times a day and some were concerned about him. He called me last night and he spent the entire day in the ER after slipping on his driveway and hitting his head. He's going thru that today. He's in good spirits - getting stiches. He is 72 years old

Well since he can't seem to land a plane and appears to have trouble walking it would seem that he should spend more time sitting down!!!  I can relate to falls - they are not avoidable in elderly people.  A friend of mine fell the other winter (age then was 72) and got a concussion that had lasting affects.  It also indicates potential for other problems.  Maybe that he should forgo flying for a LONG time - just saying!!!  I don't think it matters because the RV appears to be light years away.  And according to some it doesn't matter to the little people anyway.  HUH?  Well, opinions vary, don't they?

Ah, Okie, I know where you can get a scooter and probably get it free with Medicare.  Be careful of it when trying to obtain one with Obamacare though, you might have to push it!!!!

Well I hate to hear of Okie's misfortune, I am glad he is ok! I do not wish any harm to anyone.  AK said, he needed to spend more time sitting down....NO...that is what he has been doing too much of, sitting on the phone and computer...maybe that is why he isn't walking good!  I think maybe he needs to spend less time sitting at the phone, and computer!!!!

NO, wpsmit....I would miss everyone!!! Maybe less time on the computer, but at least come in and say hello a couple times a day!  I love my friends here!  Now Friday night I will be camping, and Sat riding my horse, so I won't be near a computer.  No service out there!!! But, I will miss all of you!!!! I will be back to check in Sat night unless I am too tired, and then it will be Sunday!  We do need to get away and rest our minds sometimes!coffee

OKIE FELL IN HIS DRIVEWAY Empty Re: OKIE FELL IN HIS DRIVEWAY

Post by aksafeone Thu Oct 24, 2013 11:40 am

Horizon:  I had in mind that Okie should be sitting on the group w bench outside his local Barber Shop or in the Park nearest him.  Great places those benches.  Spit and Whittle clubs abound there.  I know I am a plank holder of one of them.  Takes ones mind off of just one subject and broadens ones scope somewhat!!  WE don't allow laptops and smart phones are to be shut off - no peeking to see what is happening.  Yes dinar is discussed, however the discussion is limited to the group present and the rules say no additional information is allowed in other than what was discovered prior to the session.

When we get low on wood to whittle, we start in on 'roos egos.  Makes for an interesting conversation.  Yes, all members of the club are dinarians who are more or less heavily invested.  It has been an interesting discussion time 6 days a week for the last 5 years.  The group has grown and includes people from all walks of life.   Of course the meeting being held outside the Barber Shop makes it rather public so ideas are guarded on some subjects and every once in a while a subject is broadcast to incite interest - like raffles, local football wins and world series speculation.

What do we do in winter?  Tell the idiots who were born in a barn to SHUT THE DOOR - the Barber Shop is located in the Mall (next to Sportsmans Warehouse).  If we get bored we take a walk over there and look at all the different things people spend hard earned money on to go play.  During fishing season most of us walk out with the latest "fad" lures.  Mostly on Mondays we walk out with the recently delivered ammo - it doesn't last long.  Bears!
