Fast food flippers want a pay raise

Fast food workers in Chicago, Detroit and Seattle went on strike before Labor Day weekend, demanding their wages be raised to $15 dollars an hour.

Maybe these people need to talk to our soldiers fighting overseas for a little perspective...

Just simply another case of workers asking for more pay than the can get until the worker "pays" themselves out of a job. There is no way in heck that people are going to pay 12 dollars for a MC D and fries. Because if those "workers" get $15 like they are asking for burgers would have to be that price just to stay open.

With 14,000 franchises just in the US alone, that kind of move in pay would cost McDonald 2 to 2 and a half Billion dollars per year. Their net earnings are only 4 to 5 Billion per year. If earning got cut in half they would have to stop paying dividends, investors would bail, the stock would plumet and McD would be on the verge of bankruptcy.
Mc Donalds will NEVER do it and rightfully so. Anyone idiotic enough to believe they are somehow "entitled" to $15 / hour is where the real problem lies.

My wife works in education. She deals with young children most of which have "issues" on a daily basis. Some are still in diapers, some bite and or kick, some bolt, all are precious and require love and attention. It takes, patience, skill and yes, prayer to deal with them successfully. Any moron can flip burgers, there is not a lot of skill needed, everything is preformed, preportioned, with time and temperature preset. Load them on, wait for the beep, take them off. No skill, sales or otherwise needed. My wife makes less than $15.00 an hour after many years experience and three years of college. Send those blat butts for a long walk on a short pier. JMO

Problem is, where these people work, it is owned by a small business owner. He can't afford to pay that kind of money. These protesters are part of the 30%. The dumbasz crowd.

Palmer01 I stand corrected. It is even more implausable to think that a franchise owner would give up half of his or her net income.
