The dong is at .47 when its released do you expect for it to be at a higher rate?

Oh Yay!! We have someone who is interested in info on the VND . Welcome LtJ1981!. I hope there are others who have an interest also and will share what they know. I am clueless in that currency area. If you ever get any intel on the Dong, let us know. ANdy one have thoughts in regards to his question?

0.00005 is what the Dong is currently at , If it go's to .47 I will be amazed.Iraq (the reason I even got into this) has always been in the 2+ dollar range and even at 4+ back in the 1930's and held there until the late 40's and didnt go down the tubes until as we know 2003/2004 ..The dong on the other hand

1 Vietnamese Dong (VND) = 0.00007166 US Dollar (USD) I lost the page to try and go back farther but you can see what it was in "99" still dirt cheap at 14000 dong per dollar in "99" and almost 21000 per now in "13" Thats only a 20 bill difference.. 1 million dong was roughly $71 in "99" , its $50 now so where is THAT going. It would have taken 14 years to LOSE $21..I just dont see the thought process in the Dong

Because I do not believe in a global reset and because Vietnam has been stable for many years at their currency value, and they have NO natural resources, I do not believe that the Dong will revalue. In addition, it is a communist country so moving the economy forward would be very difficult. Isn't the VND a recognized traded currency. If so....THen the market sets the rate.....

If ALL countries are going to have a reset in their currency, then why are we all so focused on the Dinar... we should be scooping up all kinds of currency?

I think the Dong was picked up and pushed by currency dealers as another way to make money. It started with the gurus a couple of years ago.... but that trail has gone kind of cold. The gurus don't push it much right now, because they can't find much about it so they have no "stories to spin" from it. Well that has never stopped them though has it.

A currency convertor through OANDA its showing 21,080.0 dong per dollar that doesnt equate to .47..I wish that it did for the dongers !!!cause that would have to mean the dinar snapped as well weres that graph I saw on this site acouple days back

Please LTJ1981, do NOT go by anything I say in regards to the DONG. I was only stating my personal opinion. I know there are others out there who have background in that currency. Hopefully, they will weigh in on this thread and give their thoughts. In the meantime, I am going to see if I can find more info. I have never really researched the dong.
