Arabic Translations

I have often wondered why Arabic to English translations of news over there is so poor.
If there are individuals who claim to receive information straight from the(camel's)mouth,so to speak,would it not be too much to have this information translated correctly?
Often "gurus" speak of having their contacts over in the sandbox,yet none of these contacts seem able to translate events proficiently.
There must be a guru-contact somewhere over there who can translate the newspapers/TV coverage etc. and furnish it to said guru,in order that a simple mind such as my own would understand it.
Mostly,when we read news of Iraqi's "dancing in the streets" or bankers / politicians making hugely "important" announcements on national TV...we have at best GoogleTranslate or something.
Do none of the "guru's" clandestine contacts in the ME have a Western education?...or could it be that a correct translation would not leave enough mystery in the air in order to continue to perpetuate a theme...and confuse simple minds,once again,such as mine?
If these said contacts do exist,surely there MUST be at least ONE fluent in Arabic and English?

OMG !!!  I  was just thinking about that myself today.  There was a post on another site, that contradicted what someone roo saod  a translation was.  And I  thought... hmmm so how much of the supposed translation is just more bull amd has nothing what they are claiming it to be. 

I mean really, I have read those translations and gone...." WTF.... Sorry to put it bluntly but, really, here I am reading about dinar and all of a sudden you see the word "washing machine" and "lightnig bug" and "poptart".... and then the roos say it means that everything is RIGHT ON TRACK !!!!

ponee  i have raid  articles from arabic  translated to english  and it makes no sense. this  is me they have there own lingo. as far as gurus they will say anything that sounds good i believe only what cn be proved

I still don't know who or what "watermelon" is.

In translation - there are often words that do not have a true "English" definition.  I think I know what article you are talking about, and it would refer to "the fruit" or "the result".  Often the writer will use one of these "non translatable" words, and translation software will pick the "closest" probability.

Delta, and one other who's name is escaping me at the moment speak and read Arabic I think. Kap and I think Bondlady have people who can translate for them if there is any question. One thing I do is if there is any question I will try an alternate translator. Both Google and Bing have translator sites, and I find that sometimes a post that makes no sense on one site is clear on the other. Not always, but often enough.
