Smuggling reasons behind Iraqi dinar deterioration, ex-MP

BAGHDAD/ Aswat al-Iraq: ex-MP Ala' al-Saadoun stated today that the deterioration in Iraqi currency is due to smuggling foreign currency abroad, declining to say that the Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) was the main reason.
She added, in a statement, that the CBI managed to preserve the value of the Iraqi currency before the dollar, as well as accumulating $60 billion in reserves.
MP Saadoun called to solve the problem through real control of smuggling the dollar, and combating money laundry.
