STOP THE TUG-OF-WAR Empty STOP THE TUG-OF-WAR

Post by UNEEK Fri May 24, 2013 12:20 am

So many times the human weakness
takes over from triggered emotions and a person will lash out and
verbally abuse another with judgement and criticism -

I have not only seen it happen
but have been a victim of it and it is so sad to witness such cruelty
- Sticks and stones may break your bones but words do hurt deeply -
Please Be kind !!

The unspoken word is in your control – once spoken it has control over you

Tug-of-War - Just Let Go [Not my own words but very wise ones – found elsewhere]

Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; do not fret--it only causes harm. Psalm 37:8

You may have read it in the past; He, who angers you, controls you.

Recently, God has been talking to me
about weapons and how we can remove many of the weapons the enemy would
try to use against us, especially weapons of words. You know what I
mean, someone will say something to you in anger or hoping for a
reaction from you, that's a weapon.

Now, whether that weapons prospers or not
is entirely up to you. It doesn't have to prosper - actually the Bible
says no weapon formed against you will prosper.

However, keep in mind, if a weapon of
words is aimed at you and you react to it, rather than respond as the
word of God tells you to - it is likely to prosper.

What happens is you hear those words
spoken or aimed at you and then your mind takes over. Your mind begins
to play different scenarios about what they must have meant or what you
are going to say back and before you know it there is nothing talking
back but your flesh.

You are no longer consulting with God
about this - you are handling it on your own because you are going to
say what you want to say. Well, if that's you, that weapon just
prospered.

Anytime you step out of the spirit or out
of God's way of doing things you will find yourself in trouble.
Especially in the battle of the mind and words. The Bible says our mind
is in enmity with God.

Our mind fights against God and His ways,
at least until it is renewed by the word of God. Our mind will tell us
all kinds of crazy things and try to get us to react to what someone
else is saying. Don't do it. Stop. Get a hold of yourself and ask God
how He would have you respond. Then do that.

Here is how God showed me this worked.
When there is a battle of words, back and forth, one shooting words and
pulling at the other. It is like a tug-of-war. I want you to get this
picture in your mind; one person on each side of the rope pulling and
pulling with words and reactions and words and more reactions.

What God says is to respond with the word
of God - don't react to the words - when you respond you are simply
pulling the other end of the rope. But if you refuse to react, if you
refuse to be pulled any longer, what do you do? You let go. Just let go
of the rope. What happens when you let go?

The person on the other end goes down.
That weapon that has been formed against you will go down, fall to the
ground and be powerless.

There is no good reason to be in a
tug-of-war with words with someone else. There is no fruit at all in
that. The one who lets go is the one who removes the pressure of being
pulled and being controlled by that rope and the person on the other end
of it.

It's the rope that keeps you tied to the
person causing all the stress and pressure, if you let it go, they are
no longer attached to you. Just let it go.

Why then don't we let go? Pride. Wanting
to have the last word. Not wanting someone to say something that will
hurt or offend without putting them in their place. Hmmm. (All my
friends know what hmmm means)

If we let go, it is in the hands of God and He will avenge. He will take care of all of it. If you let Him.

But, if you want to take care of it yourself, God will take His hands off it and let you have your way.

He who angers you, controls you. He who
irritates you, controls you. He who offends you, controls you. Aren't
you ready to take the control of your life out of someone else's hands?
Then remove their weapon, take your hand off the rope and walk free of
it.

When they say something to you to get you
to react, refuse to react. Stop - wait - listen for what God would have
you do and then respond only as God would have you to. Refuse to react.

Respond according to the word of God and
the direction of the spirit of God. Then and only then will you find
that NO weapon formed against you shall prosper. No weapon. Not even the weapon of words.

I have often told people I was counseling with anger/bitterness issues that they only ones they were holding captive and hurting with their unforgiveness. I once saw a young lady actually begin to be healed from RA as she began to forgive her parents. Thanks

Thanks for sharing Kevin --you are right - emotions of grief - sadness - guilt - anger - resentment - bitterness - worry - anxiety - fear - intimidation will manifest in the body as pneumonia - bronchitis - arthritis - gall stones - high cholesterol- high blood pressure - ulcers- irritable bowel - spastic colon - cancer - diabetes - on and on and on -

I have read - studied - experienced & witnessed the effects of carrying and feeding these emotions for the past 15 years

The two most powerful healing agents in the world that we all have free unlimited access to are "Forgiveness" & "Gratitude"

There are NO pills that will heal or cure the effects of harboring and feeding these emotions-- We heal from the inside out -- not from the outside in -

Have a wonderful weekend
