The Spelling Bee
I'm sorry to be the spelling police but in this post from SteveI, Ray & OCrush they use "there" 4 times when the correct spelling is "their".
It just amazes me how often I see this done by these guys.
I can guarantee that I am not the only one that notices this and I cringe every time I see it. It almost makes me not believe what's posted because the poster doesn't know the difference between "there and their". I think it's taught in 2nd or 3rd grade english class. Maybe they skipped class that day.
Sorry for the rant.
Thanks for the info.
4-23-2013 Intel Gurus SteveI, Ray & OCrush I see that the DFI funds are no longer going to get protected after May 23, 2013. Below is some of the important things of why this is very good for our investment and the country of Iraq. Babysitting the Iraqi's is not an option anymore. We protected them for ten years and its about time to stop holding there hand. It's also a good sign that Iraq will emerge completely from chapter vii. What I find interesting, the feds will travel to Baghdad to complete the protection release and sign the appropriate paper work. [post 1 of 2....stay tuned]
4-23-2013 Intel Gurus SteveI, Ray & OCrush There was a meeting with Turki (cbi's governor) with top US officials discussing this issue with them. Not only did they discuss the DFI but the reserves and other Iraqi funds. We believe this was an official audit on the Iraqi holdings to make sure the data was accurate. Completing this 10 year stance is awesome and they are ready to move forward. Parliament has till May 15 (extended legislative term) to get the significant laws past to have Iraq's monetary policies in place to have a revaluation. These policies are moving forward in lightning speed but we need to see stability in the political arena to get it done. Time will tell and I have to say they have a very short timetable. It's a dinar discussion site, I don't think people care how they spell anything, as long as they get their point across, it doesn't really matter, jus' sayin'-

Re: The Spelling Bee
Well, speaking for myself, when I see someone who is positioning themselves as an expert, and makes such basic errors in grammar and spelling I tend to discount anything they have to say. We are not talking advanced stuff here, they're and there, lose and loose, stuff like that. It's not like we are asking them to spell antidisestablishmentarianism ... (Yes that is a real word, look it up. You might need a collegiate dictionary. MY grandmother had me spelling words like that in 2nd grade.) Especially with spellchecker and all, sorry, there just is no excuse.

BTW antidisestablishmentarianism is the doctrine or political position that opposes the withdrawal of state

Re: The Spelling Bee
I guess a third grade education, or dyslexia is out of the question, right? If people want to half spell shite, let 'em, that's their deal,I mean, really, it ain't a bent front fork on a bicycle- I don't care how people spell their words, as long as they get their point across, anyway, it doesn't make a dang to me, there are more important things to worry about in life than worrying about that kind of thing, know what I mean? Jus' sayin'-

there, their
Well, I had no idea that this would turn into a separate thread. But, I'm glad to see someone else feels the same way I do.
As mentioned above, I just question the intelligence of someone when they regularly butcher spelling. It's not like they are typing like they are texting and shortening words etc.. It is basic english language and when someone doesn't know the difference and they are the people that you are relying on as a guru so to speak, it sure makes me question why I am relying on them for information.
I understand when people misspell words. I do it all the time, but when someone consistently misspells a simple word like "there and their" which has 2 totally different meanings then I have to question their intelligence.

That's the point Terbo. Even with a third grade education they should know which there to use that's basic stuff. Besides when was the last time you met someone in this country with just a third grade education. Nor is it the kind of mistake a dyslexic would make. If you are claiming to be an expert, professional, or heck, just a graduate you should be able to use do basic spelling and grammar correctly. The semi literate drivel I so often see, especially from the guru's is just not confidence inspiring.
Let me put it another way. Would you trust your finances to an adviser who misspelled dollar, investment and had several grammatical errors in their flyer they sent you? I would not, I would be thinking, "If they are that careless with their flyer, how are they going to treat my money?" These clowns are like that adviser positioning themselves as experts and giving advice to others.
