7-15-2012 Ogou: My intel tells me a deal has been reached and Allawi got the raw deal. That was a week ago, not sure what has happened since then. Last I heard Barazani got what he wanted, so did Sadr, but Allawi is only so-so and he can't do anything about it.

I was expecting the sharing of powers to have happened already. I am not sure what is the hold up currently. I know Maliki has been working behind the scenes to work out some kind of deal where even though he is sharing the power he is also retaining the power if you know what I mean.

I also know for a fact the whole point of this NCV or the threat of it, is to get Maliki out of the way because he is solely holding up this RV. Maliki knows too many people. IMHO, his life is not in danger at all. He has military friends etc.

IF he gets voted out his political career is on hiatus. Also, I have it on good authority that Maliki is keeping the dinar low because he is making money off a low dinar. It is more than just power with him, it is making money too. The wait is frustrating but at least there is finally movement in our direction. I don't see the RV happening for several weeks after Maliki is out of the way. They will tweak the RV and then submit the paperwork and then the paperwork must be processed.
