I just open up a can of Chile, and some beans, throw some cheese on it, mic it, and I'm on the back deck, saying "wow, that was easy". Oh, don't forget the hot sauce.

Re: What's for dinner
We did a quick scratch mac and cheese tonight ... have a turkey defrosting for Saturday, not quite sure what I'll do yet, but thinking I'll start on the grill and finish in the oven. The rest I'll make up as I go, same as I usually do.

Especially the way I make them. 1/3 vodka, 2/3 hot bloodymary mix.

No catnip at my house, but there are dog biscuits galore. I just got back into town, and will be picking up the dogs at the doggie hotel in a couple of hours. They'll get fed first, then my dinner will probably be a salad and broccoli cheese bake (out of the freezer). Not very inspired, but filling.

So, SEB, you ever try a dog bisquit? They cost a LOT less than steak and lobster.

I must admit that I have tried them, PALMER01. In fact, a few years ago I used to bake gourmet dog biscuits and sold them locally in a couple of pet supply stores in Marin County, CA. They were pretty darned good, if I say so myself!

Re: What's for dinner
When my daughter was in high school, she had a friend come over, and that girl ate almost all of the dog biscuits! I was really hoping she wouldn't get sick, but she said they were good. She just decided to try them when they were giving them to the dog! Yuck..I don't think I want to try one, its just the thought of it!!!!

Re: What's for dinner
So, I was on my deck a couple of summers ago, grilling. Along with the normal stuff people grille, we were doing stuffed Jalapenos, and stuffed hot peppers from my garden. It came down to the last pepper, and my dog, Tasha, looks at me as if to say, are you really going to eat the last one? So I gave it to her. She ate it, and her lips curled back, because of the pepper heat. Now, she ALWAYS sniffs whatever I give her, first, before she takes it. Think she doesn't trust me anymore?

Re: What's for dinner
Another quickie I like is those Jimmy Dean Sausage & Bisquits. Out of the freezer, into the microwave for a minute and a half, put a little habanero sauce on there, and you're ready for anything. Tasha will eat a bite of those, but carefully. I always save her a little corner of one of those, complete with a drop of habenero. So, SEB, we are making our own dog bisquits, too.

Re: What's for dinner
I have 20 differant kinds of hot sauce in my house. Plus, we grow hot peppers in the summertime. Every year we try something new. My neighbor has learned that when he hears me in a coffing fit back by my garden, I'm not having a heart attack, or anything, just a fresh picked smokin hot pepper. You know, you got to try them out, before anyone else.

Re: What's for dinner
Hey, after all that last night, I just had to make some quicky chili. Threw some jalapenos, and some ElYucteco habenero in there, made some dogs, and life was good. Fang2, enjoy the party today. It is raining here, but I am going outside to work in the yard anyway. Get the boat raingear out and get to work.

Re: What's for dinner
I can see the smoke rising from here. Let me see the emergency number is??? Hmmmm. Oh well, guess I'll eat another cracker with my hot salmon dip on it and see if that "unfogs" the memory. Hmmmm.
Better make another batch of smoked salmon with jalapeno, and ElYucteco habenero peppers in it with a touch of that nasty little red one - yep that ought to do it. Of course I could put some of that really hot horseradish in to "flavor" it a might more. The batch I did yesterday turned out AWESOME.
And the fire department is only 2.5 miles away - and they have a man-drawn and operated pumper!!!!

Hey, nothing going on the grille tonight. Maybe I will just fire it up, get it hot, and lick whatever was on the grille the last time. Mayo, and Mustard with that? I wonder if your tongue would stick like the fish.
