I thnk those are big words for Bird Doc's, if so, I don't know, but I do know that duck, goose, spruce chicken, ect... are good to eat.

You're thinking of Cornish Game Hen ... a Capon is a decriminalized rooster, and gets quite large.

Do you have a sick parrot or other bird, Herb Lady? If so, I know you love that bird just like any of us would care for our pets. I hope everything turns out OK. :flower:

Re: Off the wall question!!
This thread reminds me of a story,
A young man leaves his small town farm home goes off to College Majors in Petroleum Engineering, gets his degree and a great job. First one in his family to do so. His family was so proud.
The job takes him all over the world and in his travels he would find gifts and send them back to his mom and dad. On one such trip he was in South America, found some very expensive talking birds and thought his parents would love them. So off they go, shipped them back to the farm.
A few months later he comes home for a visit and was looking around the house for the birds and could not find them. So he asks his folks about them. Saying “What happen to the birds I sent you, didn’t you like them?”
His mother said “they were good, but hard to pluck” Astonished, he proclaims “those were expensive talking birds, and you ate them?!!!!!!”, His father looked up from reading the paper and says, “if there were so smart they could talk, they should have spoke up and said something”
I hope heblady does not have a sick pet, I hope she was just curious.

Re: Off the wall question!!
Hi Herb Lady. I am so sorry your Rambo is not doing well. Did he get into something toxic to birds? Or does he have a virus or something? Parrots are usually so long-lived. How old is he?
Take care. I'll say a prayer for Rambo and for you too. I know you're in pain right now, and I hope so much that it all turns out well for you both.

Re: Off the wall question!!
Thanks Sebtopdog. and yes 1alaskan, you are all forgiven.
At first he and the cat that adopted me were getting along very well. I have had this cat for almost a year now. But recently, something changed with the cat and he became very aggressive, even with me. I had been keeping them separated since they were not getting along. Actually, here lately, the cat hasn't been getting along with anybody, had become very mean if he wasn't getting his way. He was kept at the other end of the house if not outside, but the other night he made a mad dash out and attacked Rambo. I have been trying to find a new home for the cat, but tomorrow he will either go out to a farm or to a no kill shelter. Luckily Rambo doesn't have any broken bones!!! Rambo should have broken the cat's leg when he bit him! Maybe that's mean but Rambo is my baby!!

Oh, Herb Lady. I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes after reading your story. How awful for you! Won't you please keep us posted on Rambo's hoped-for recovery? What a traumatic experience for you both.
Sorry about the cat, too. You did your best to rescue a kitty, but sometimes it just doesn't work out. Take care.

Re: Off the wall question!!
Thanks Sebtop dog! this has just been very frustrating for me since I've worked with this cat for sometime now, and he was doing really well, but not here lately, apparently nothing worked. I really don't wish him any harm, although I'm sure that Rambo might, but he's just not working out here, so maybe out at a friend's farm would be a better place for him, if not then he'll have to go to the shelter. I'll keep you all posted on Rambo's recovery! Things will get better! Thanks again!

Re: Off the wall question!!
Oh, we have no idea exactly how old Rambo is, I've had him about 10 years, my friend that I got him from had him about 10 years, Lord only knows how long he was with a truck driver and another couple before him. They can live up to approximately 100+ years if kept in good health, he was in very good health before this traumatic insident.
