Let's hope they do what is right for their people and RV. I really don't know what they are waiting for. Don't they know weight broke the wagon down?
I would sure love to hear what Moon has to say? Guess that will be all over their newspaper by the time we all get up...

Re: ARAB SUMMIT NOW IN SESSION!
Very simple. IF Iraq TRULY was desperate and NEEDED this RV to occur, it would have been done a very long time ago. What we are told in the Western World of WHY Iraq needs this RV so desperately, really comes down to this. WE are hoping and longing and wanting it more than THEY need it. Fact is, Iraq is doing well. Their nation is booming financially, they are building Sports Cities, Stadiums to host World Cup Soccer next year. Kurdistan is BOOMING with new roads, traffic lights, skyscrapers, and MALLS which rival anything you see in America. Malls filled with Bally Swiss Leather shoes, purses, clothes, Nike Stores, Electronics. Baghdad is booming with private enterprise, car dealerships, Cell Phone stores, Cafe's, etc. So in reality, for the most part, they are doing pretty well. Now that the summit has come, we once again see, Iraq SURELY DID NOT NEED their RV to impress any Arab nation attending. And you can surely bet, those attending are eating WELL.

Re: ARAB SUMMIT NOW IN SESSION!
Very True, just saying RV was NOT needed to host this and bring in Arab nations and leaders. Iraq has much to boast of and SHOW OFF in progress. Question is. IF the RV was NOT needed to host such a monumental gathering, which we have heard about for one year, then what really is needed BY this Summit to bring the RV? All I was saying again, was, Iraq does NOT NEED this as much as we are led to believe.

Re: ARAB SUMMIT NOW IN SESSION!
I am thinking this may be a ways off yet by what Siaya is saying and I was thinking the same anyway about the Summit and how it was paid for etc. It now appears they didnt need the RV which is a massive pain in the bum!! I am fast running out of my positive energy so I better go outside and do something productive!!

That very well could be true. Probably only a room full of people (leaders) in IRAQ really know what Iraq needs and doesn't need.

This is true Punisher, it has always been this way. There are a handful of people that know what, when, where, how and how much. Everything else is and has always been spectulation. This is Iraqs gig and always has been let's hope they need the RV RIGHT NOW as much as the rest of the world, we will soon find out. Blessings

If this really is a well thought out plan that can "save" everybody...it must be executed soon (in my opinion). All the waiting only makes things worst.

And on that note, while we have been waiting things have indeed gotten considerably worse. Surprise us and RV already..

Re: ARAB SUMMIT NOW IN SESSION!
Iraq does need currency reform, very very badly. They dont need it for the reasons the gurus say. The CBI has clearly said why they need it... badly.
And Iraq's private sector is not booming. It is doing ok but its not booming. A private sector can't "boom" without banks to facilitate the sales of a booming private sector. Which the CBI has also acknowledged.
Long and short is that Iraq could very well RV during the summit. Since we know that the removal of the three zero's is to start BEFORE the new currency is released and BEFORE the new rate is used in the budget for 2013.
I believe its childish to think that a country's credibility is measured by the amount there currency is worth. These are't kids comparing social stance based on who has the biggest... toy gun. These are adult men. And if WE know what Iraq is worth with out a high exchange rate... why wouldn't they? They would.
People need to stop looking at when Iraq will be released out of CH VII and START looking at their induction into the WTO THAT is what can't happen without a currency that reflects the countries true value. THAT is what people need to watch for... not all this summit/UN stuff...
Unless you are investing/invested into Iraqi businesses and trade or their stock market... you are barking up the wrong tree.
My advice to most of you when this RV does happen. Get a financial advisor and dont touch your money again. You will lose it because it's clear most people have treated this like a lottery ticket.

In any case... Get as much dinar as you can and get it now. DO NOT BUY RESERVES!!!!. Find the best exchange rate you can and get it before time runs out. Might not happen today or tomorrow or until September, but the more you have the better off WE ALL will be.

"I believe its childish to think that a country's credibility is measured by the amount there currency is worth. These are't kids comparing social stance based on who has the biggest... toy gun. These are adult men.“
And that started guaranteeing that "adults will act like adults when????" Lol. Don't kid yourself this isn't about childish ego, its about national pride. And that is very important to them. VERY important in view of their standing in the ME community. That isn't going to happen with Iraq continuing to rely on the US dollar. They desperately desire sovereign nation status in the Arab community. The RV is an essential tool in facilitating that.

Arab economic summit did not discuss poverty and development issues, say experts
28/03/2012 12:19
BAGHDAD, March 28 (AKnews) - A number of economic experts have criticized Arab economy, finance and trade ministers for not discussing poverty reduction and the need to turn Arab economies into productive ones in yesterday's meeting in Baghdad.
An unnamed professor at the University of Baghdad's department of management and economics said the economic summit did not discuss the most important issues, which include how to eradicate poverty and how to make Arab economies productive rather than reliant on oil resources.
"The recommendations of the economic summit will not be realistic in the absence of a common economic strategy between the Arab countries, where there are great differences between the incomes of Arab citizens," said the professor.
Ministers voted yesterday on three strategies related to tourism, water security and disaster prevention.
"The tourism and water security strategy and disaster reduction are not enough to address the Iraqi economy and develop it significantly," added the professor.
Member of the Iraqi Market Organization Jabbar Munshid meanwhile said the decisions made at the economic meeting are not enough if the recommendations of previous summits are not carried out.
"Activating the Arab Labor Organization is important to secure the market and activate free trade areas between the Arab countries and to facilitate the entry of Arab-made goods.
"Such meetings are not reliable and realistic unless specialized committees are formed to facilitate the implementation of the recommendations on the ground and take into account the changes in the next phase."
Member of the economic committee in the Iraqi Council of Representatives Abdul Hussein Abtan said: "These conferences need the formation of a higher committee to implement the recommendations and legislate laws that fit with the recommendations of the economic summit.
"The Arab economic ministers were supposed to discuss strategic projects such as poverty and promote economic development strategies in order to reach common economic [goals] among the Arab countries."
The Arab League called for taking advantage of what it described as the positive atmosphere in yesterday's meeting. The league asked Arab economic ministers to make decisions consistent with the changes witnessed in the Arab spring.

Re: ARAB SUMMIT NOW IN SESSION!
Because they are going to have to restructure ther country now that Ghadafi has been overthrown. They will probably go for a more democratic form of government, print new currency to get Ghadafi's picture off of it, and try to form some sort of regularty in their life. Okie mentioned it some time back, said it would probably only be a 2-3 year ride. I am going to wait and see if the rate goes down on it first though. Right now it is about .81 cents apiece. I figure the price will drop to about 40-50 cents each, then I will try to get in. I guess I am a sucker for punishment. At least I wont be going into it broke nor uneducated, this time.

I can remember a time when national pride meant a lot to us. What a shame that my generation instigated the erosion of national pride, and the generations that followed have ratcheted the pace up to today's break-neck speed.
