Hi Miskebam, I believe in what you are doing. There are to many these days that just throw stuff up to see a rise in someones excitement and to put a check next to thier accomplishments and not be arround for days to cover the outfall from it. I was am tired and hit no on the question because I didnt read it properly. I answered no we should not let hearsay be posted here. The hours that are spent here by Mods and you yourself trying to control things so people don't get hurt is amazing. I wish folks understood the schedule of your and sambos day trying to keep the site up and running as well as the behind the sceen daily maintenence and fixing they might have more thought as to what they do. If folks don't want to read true postings and they would rather have fiction there are plenty of other sites they can go. I am all for no having trash to have to sift through. For me when I read a post I like to read the comments to see what others think of it. If you lock them then I will miss out on what I like to read the most.

If you simply delete them then we all miss out on taking in everything we can find and then condensing it into our own opinion. How do you determine what is hearsay? Isn't this censorship?

Just make a category for hearsay and move hearsay posts there. That way if people want to read it they will know going in that it is hearsay no harm no foul.

I did not know this thread was here when I wrote this & posted in the "All topics locked thread"..... SORRY for the double posting.

I use to come here to read "ALL" the posts to compare the info (good & bad), but if this site wants to "ONLY" post IQD FACTS, well then I only need to come on here once a month to read them.

I can honestly say this because "NO INTEL PROVIDER EVER PROVES WHAT THEY HAVE TO SAY"!

So that does make everything that is said on this site (most everything) "Hearsay", or just as bad, "their OPINIONS"!

Granted, this is not my site, but allow me MHO.... "Every Time I come on here, it seems anything & most everything has to move to another site (that is a turn off for me & seems to be for others as well).

I truly am very sorry "Miske" if you read this & take offense, I really am not writing this in a hateful or hurtful way or frame of mind, I do want to only come across as just being "HONEST".

I'm glad I read that court stuff on here, if I didn't.... I may have missed it due to not always going to the OOM2 website every day or two. That also goes for some of the other posts that have been locked & moved. I enjoy reading what has been posted on this site, "all info in one place", "A 1 shop stop"! Who wants to go to different websites to read info when it is much better to stay on just 1 site and read it all? "JMHO"!

That's what I get for trying to post from my phone!

As I see it in this investment, as many have stated before, ALL intel is hear-say. I have noticed a huge increase in the posts with differening "opinions" about the intel. I have gotten to where I only read the posts and do not read the comments anymore due to the fact the comments get way off base.

Could there be a "rumor" section where only the original post is involved and no comments allowed? I can see where the current system would drive the moderators crazy trying to keep the peace on some of these.

I finally had enough when there was a very blatant post that was presented as fact (meeting minutes) to represent a meeting of the various intel providers, and its soul intention was to ruin the names of those who have been posting "intel", "hear-say", "rumors" or whatever you want to call it, including our own OKie. Yes it was clever, supposedly ment as a "joke" (at someone elses expense) but it honestly showed me how far someone was willing to go in order the grind the axe if you will. MHO was it was designed to spook those who are new to the investment.

Do what you will, it is your site. From what I can see this site has run through the cycles during about the same time frame that DinarVets did before a handful of bashers took over and ran most out. I have noticed the same thing going on here, a few are trying to control the many. If you post a well-informed decenting opinion, you are highly bashed.

It will be interesting to see what your next move is.

The members didnt receive the onslaught of PM's from members that absolutely HATED the scroll getting spammed with anything not related to the dinar... they wanted to come here and read the dinar related stuff at the end of the day with out having to sift through everything else... there were plenty that voiced that in the forum publicly, but the PM's were a little louder.

I tried to post today that I knew that the IRS systems were down today, but my post was removed rather quickly. I have also found if you talk economic views those post havent hit either. People really need to be allowed to see the bigger picture here regarding the dinar. There is so much more going on here other than just reviewing Iraqi news articles. For example this site posted someone saying that if the US loses his world currency status in the process of this revaluation and our currency loses 40%, dont worry it will all be OK. Are your kidding me? Middle class America is barely making it and when hyper-inflation kicks in and everything now costs 10 times more than before what do you think will happen. There be be rioting & looting like no other! All the most brilliant minds in the financial industry have been writing about this since 2006 along with warning about the meltdown of 2008. Just in the past week Goldman Sachs & Merrill Lynch analysts have also written articles jumping on the same band wagon. Ronald Reagan's famous economist, Freidman has written a book about the same dire prophecy. There is a lot more to worry about here than how we will be investing our money or what new car we are going to buy!!!!!!!!

In the investment world the dinar is titled as a "speculative (high risk) investment". As with any speculative investment alot is strictly opionion along with high degree of uncertainty due to the risk of civil unrest from the sovereign exposure it holds. So who is to say whose opionions or intel are the truth? Only time will tell!!! So I am wondering....since when have Americans not been allowed to speak their opionion? As we say in Texas, you might be riding on both sides of the fence with your censorship.

OOM was built to be a respectable place for Okie and his trusted wingmen... PERIOD... I vote get rid of the rumors and hype... if folks want to read that then there are MANY MANY places in dinarland they can get it. I personally believe that QUALITY posts not QUANTITY posts is the best way to go!!!

I think that the idea for a Rumor Room or something similar is a good idea. I realize that it is a lot of work and everybody is exhausted but it may be the only fair way to handle this. A lot of truths pointed out in this poll on both sides.

Some people are getting on edge and a lot of the bashers seem to have a lot of frustration that they seem to need to vent over this rv. and that is very understandable - but not always a good thing.

HA! Maybe you can put some of those foam bats, you know, like the ones used in some of those therapy groups, in the Rumor Room!!!

Well, I guess I'll just throw in my $0.02 and say that I have a problem with any cries of "censorship" here. This is a private board, and they who run it get to set the rules. Being a member here is a privilege, not a right, and that includes the types of posts that are or aren't allowed.

That said, I also appreciate that Miske put this out there for a vote. And wow, the yeahs and nays are neck and neck -- 56 votes YES and 57 votes NO.

Hearsay is like a rumor. I don't believe it when I read, My uncles best friend's sister's cousin just heard this right from someone who is a manager or was it the teller' BFF at WF or was it BOA or maybe Chase. That's not censorship that is clean-up.

So it looks like those of us that want to hear what intel providers are saying can just go to another website... Looks like the people that are sick of our positivity about the Dinar RVing soon will get their wish and we will slowly be phased out. I don't see how it can go any other way when there will be little to no hope allowed as a new thread. Iraq will not be putting out any articles pointing to an RV at this point. Considering Okie and his wingmen are getting locked and thrown off the scroll, I guess people can get their Okie fix on other websites as well?

I think alienating the half of us that have high hopes is a weird call, but whatever... Not my site. I really hope from the bottom of my heart that after this RV's that some of you have more compassion towards others feelings, but I have a feeling you will justify your actions by deeming them better for others than they realize. I like having hope and it is very suggestive here that I am a moron for believing in the RV and the intel providers. How else can I take it when people say that the people I believe are liars and criminals or that my belief in the RV is a fairy-tale?

The sad thing is that it is the same things I always face when trying to debate with atheists. Regardless... God bless all of you and this site in Jesus name.

I still say we should have and need a place for "rumors" and place all the rumors there. This would include the guru's and bank stories, and to be realistic virtually ANY news that comes as we have been told...There will be a whole lot of Misinformation. So just what will be left? If anyone looks at Just the threads from today (for example) Not a lot to see. We are even about to loose Most (not all) but most of the conversation, companionship, and if not careful even some friendships will be lost if these "parts" of this site are removed. Just my opinion...or is that hearsay? Think about it. Yea could be called hearsay (well rounded) but true....rick152

We all need to remember this is a privately owned site. Miskebam has provided other sites where everything can be discussed and many members frequent many sites. The consistent "today" "today" wears on everyone. And it is very hard on the MODS to try to keep it civil at times. These forum MODS work their backsides off and with little appreciation at times.

We try to keep people grounded. Yes this is an adult investment, and as such, we need to make adult decisions about it. We always provide links to Dinar Recaps so everyone can catch up on whoever they want to listen to. Everyone is accessible from that site alone.

As Miskebam said, this site was created for OKIE and his Wingmen and they have taken a route of trying to keep people grounded so no one goes out and jumps off a bridge.

The continual "hype" by some has worn on everyone. The continual, my sister's neighbor's boyfriend's cousins' uncle has gotten very old over the years.

Experiences from people directly involved at OOM are always welcome.

I do believe this is near the end and we just need to ride it out in peace. I know she has never been about the numbers but quality.

REMINDER... This is a poll on allowing or not... OTHER INTEL PROVIDERS that are NOT MEMBERS of this site... The ones that start with "I just got a call" from the High up banker, or the 3 letter agency, or a congressman... that call the RV every week or every day... only for it to obviously not happen.

This is NOT about opinions or theories of non members that might be brought in for discussion, but not based on phone calls or things they have heard. People such as Bondlady and Kaperoni are a couple of examples of people that pick apart or offer their take on what is going on, from ARTICLES and documents.

This is NOT about taking out Okie or the wingmen... Okie has intentionally backed off of posts that generate false hope... and doesnt just report stuff he hears on the phone, but things that he has studied regarding the economies... and besides that, this site was built for Okie and his friends.

This is NOT about taking out first hand reports of OOM members that might have had a bank encounter.

I am sorry to those I have offended, but I just keep feeling like I am losing a home here at OOM. Who wouldn't fight to keep their home? It looks like I'm just going to have to deal with an unwanted remodel. Oh well... Change is inevitable sometimes.

I guess what I mean is when I read cashing in tomorrow at $12 somehow makes cashing in feb. at one to one seems more likely somehow. I dont know, its late and past my bedtime!

I could never EVER disagree with that line of thinking. I would hug you if I could and I hope I haven't cause too much undue grief to you or any of the other mods here. I have been saying that 2012 is the year of forgiveness and I think we should all make an effort to make it a reality.

I agree that what we hear is likely hearsay! I have a source who has personal contacts in the Treasury, Pentagon, on the ground in Iraq. What we get is a report of why it didn't happen when it should have. I would not post what is told to me, that would compromise my source! I do enjoy hearing from the principles of this forum, but I say leave it as it is. Who is to say, until after the time, what is hearsay. Just my opinion.

I am going to try to make this as diplomatic as possible. Please excuse me if come close to any lines here. I (in advance mean NO disrespect) Feel that peeps must WORK to find what they want and need. Also must defend they're positions in all places in life.

There is a country song that goes...Youve got to stand for something or you'll fall for anything" That is the basis for what I am about to say and nothing more. so I will try to address the last few entries in one post. Afterward my lumps I will take.

Miskebam. This is your site, we all know that. You can do as you wish. That being said, Personally I believe this move is a mistake and here is why. In the last several weeks i have seen (and said nothing) SOME of the mods become lock happy, constantly (my words) pointing a finger and acting in a sort of condesending manner toward peeps who are (sometimes) out of line, GOT IT. sometimes JUST speaking they're mind and getting warned before anything even happens. And I feel some of the locks have been even because the mod doesn't like the topic. ( the Take it to OOM2 line) when the topic fits in 1. It is like "I dont like it so I'll lock and send you away" Just like a SHUT UP!

There is one other site where there is a family atmosphere along with this one and I see that (already existing dynamic) being dismantled here. Will there still remain here a family dynamic? absolutely. But I believe at the expense of the family that is already here. So does a family take half of themselves and dismiss because they do not agree? Not normally (except in a divorce LOL) does this happen. Not for disagreeing. Not healthy.

I am not sure I understand your post from 9:52 pm. I have been graced with a at genious iq and am confused. Not a easy thing for me to say. What other "intel providers from (non members) actually come here to post? Other intel providers posts are brought here by Members to "round out" what we hear and discuss. Are these discussions always perfect? heck no! However are they something to learn from? yes. The Shall we say BS posts that the guru's post and are brought here spur conversation (not always) but enough to cause some peeps to dig for truths and post. these responses are more learning material than ANY guru has brought to date...Bar none. More peeps learn more from the replies than the original post by reading tha bashing AND the intelligence added to these posts. I say that not only will losing these "brought over non member" posts will be irreperable damage to the learning capabilities of quite a few peeps here. Contrary to the way some say (go somewhere else and get the info you seek)(recaps, get,DD, prt,etc. Fine but what of those who will not. Are they not being sort of deprived? You as well as I know peeps In general are not going to that kind of trouble. Yea that is not your problem but is that really what you are seeking? I have not seen that. that is not the OOM site we have grown to love. We all gravitated here from elsewhere because of what is here and now NO! That hurts.

There is noone that knows where and when this ride will end so EVERYTHING and in MOST cases even the NEWS is hearsay. Just look at the news story from yesterday and today IN print, news... Talibini is in New york, Germany, he is coming back to Iraq and he is staying in Germany until the middle of Feb. All hearsay. News papers said maliki was in texas with O and he was in New york and Europe and Iraq all at the same time. WOW Talk about a world traveler. Just some to think about.

Everyone is kind of on edge here for one reason or another and I guess maybe I am the only one who will say these things but i say these in defense of my family amd out togetherness that I see could be dismantled.

I truly do love all of you. You may not realize the emotion I feel when a response comes from even a lurker that has remained silent for months on end when finally something brings them out. Most if not all admin/mods do send many PM's first as warnings, If you have never gotten one, good for you.

As far as being "lock happy", OOM2 was set up for all NON IQD, threads. Why was it set up this way, some members took advantage of the "free speech" Miske allowed to flow. She set up OOM2 and posted the rules for all to see/read and understand. It has taken some members a bit longer than others to do that.

And as far as me telling anyone to shut up, NOPE, you are mistaken, I was just pointing out that the posts are there to see, Locked, yes, but one can click on the link(s), (one reason why we ask for them), and read the WHOLE post in its original form, on its original site.

But again, you have to know that this poll and locking of threads would not have been needed if some members had not turned most, not all, of the "GURU" threads into name calling, bashing, almost slanderous rants.

So the few may cause us all to loose something that we may personally have wanted.

Thank you for that Ialaskan. I do so appreciate that stance where the few and the many. So why not take out the few? We could still have the discussions and the site would improve? I would bet my last that if a couple were dismissed the rest would tread more lightly no problem. The rest of us could have it all. (sounds like a girl huh?) Maybe there is a way to seperate the few. If feel like this is a question about whether this site should start seriously looking at the IQD or continue to have have pointless elementary conversations about nothing. I love to hear stories about what happens to IQD holders, by their own words.

Please no more "a guy that went to school with my brother's friend" stories. That was taken by an actual recent post btw.

I would love for this site to be more serious in it's content. There are plenty of places to go for hearsay and rumor. Nowhere for to go for veterans that have outgrown the nonsense.

Maybe even have som CPAs on here that are willing to discuss the tax stuff. Answer questions in the forum at their leisure.

Stuff like that would really set this site apart from the rest.

JMO tho.... bigsmile

Hello Everyone, My first post here at OOM. I have only been holding the dinar since September and found this site maybe about a month or so ago. I come here to gather as much information as my brain can handle for a day. I has been very overwhelming to say the least! I love the fact that I can get input from long time members as to rumors that are in recaps..it gives me another view which I do not have enough time in this to make heads or tails out of. And I do not have time in my day to search other sites to check stories out. I have found a few here that make great sense and seek their thoughts on posts, I skim through other post that don't really say anything. I do like the rebuttal (meaning good discussion not being mean) of rumor type posts as it gives me an idea of what is BS and what has merit. Thanks for having this site! My virus protector still says OOM2 is not safe....but I do have a question..is the idea of getting rid of hear say personal or factual...we all read the rumors..we all see those not come true...but if the elite members are allowed to judge..will they be removing post that Okie himself predicts?? Trains coming 747's flying.. to me these are all in the same guidelines...just curious.. So if we are only to believe what is in print and Iraq controls that..we sure don't have a lot of options..
