Time to ask the members and mods.

Do we remove hear say postings?

This does not include sharing by a member in their own words things that they have first hand experiences with.
This does not include sharing of theories and possibilies by the members and mods, as picking apart information from a theory stand point, is a good way to form opinions.

This poll will run for 48 hours, it does not allow multiple voting, and hearsay posts will be locked down until the vote is in.

Miske, with all due respect, this would eliminate 99% of the posts. Unless there's some semblance of proof, links, data, confirmation/validation, it's all here say. IMO. The only posts which are not here say have been published articles and news reports.

Yes... and several others that are not part of the membership base here.

Cries of censorship is one of the reasons that they were allowed...

Because everytime there was a hint of not allowing something on this forum, the board lit up with total distaste...

Though I voted to disallow:

The reason is because topics are locked not allowing comments.

To me that is the problem. The hearsay is what it is and that is mostly bs. The fact that we are not "allowed" to comment IS censorship from my point of view.

But I would rather not see it if I can not comment on it. Just wanted to clarify that point.

My post wasn't meant to be personal, but practical! My point is that without the rumors, there is only so much IQD RV relevant and related information coming out of Iraq in the form of news articles. Furthermore, do posts from Okie and his sources which may or may not pan out fall under the umbrella of 'heresy?' Additionally while I personally enjoy having all the Iraqi news articles one thread as you have recently been working hard to post, much of it is not IQD RV relevant and related information; its Iraq/oil/geopolitics related.

Actually ...... there is censorship here. Every time someone posts something that is not believable, acceptable or tolerable by the popular membership. Plenty of posts that offer real time events that are not backed by the mainstream media are shipped "or referred" to OOM2. Perceptions or possibilities that are not accepted by the collective consciousness are also referred to OOM2.

At this point in this investment most who have been frequenting the forums have come to realize the hype every, EVERY week. Most are growing weary of it, yet it is what it is and each one of us has a choice to click or not to click.

As far as the intel information and misinformation, Miskebam (and the mods) do an excellent job of managing the information while also making a point to warn members and viewers of the distinct possibility that it could be misleading or wrong in content.

So, IMHO unless you are wanting to change the site to OKIE DINAR NEWS BRIEFINGS than I would allow people to make their own responsible choices with the information.

I think it would be great to stop the g___s posts from being posted here. It is obvious they love being in the spotlight, with the things they fabricate. The problem is that they are NEVER right, and the new people that join, and even some of the people that have been around for a while still believe what these people say. It gives false hope, and then comes crashing down the next day/everyday! So the end result is that it hurts people, and never helps them. After all people can just go over to the sites that do post the garbage and read it there. In my opinion, the moral high road is not to allow the g___s posts to be here, that have shown for months/years they have ZERO integrity, and accountability.. JMO

Since the forum was built for Okie... he would be allowed to say whatever he choose's... Maybe poor wording in the poll name, but for clarity, This would cover anyone that gives information based on information that they HEARD from a friend or a source, that is not part of and are participants within the forum of OOM membership base.

Which, by they way, have been locked for quiet some time without repercussion, as far as I can tell.

Your signature gives appearance that you would like to see less hype and false hope... so am not sure where the challenge is?

Ok, am I understanding this right? Okie, Bear , etc...that are part of this site would still give their intel, even though we know they can't provide links for the intel they receive. I feel we have to have some information that doesn't have links, because if not, we won't hear anything about the RV.

Miske, I know the majority of the members don't want the hear say and I agree, but to be able to please the rest of the members, you could sticky post links to recaps and dinarguru... That is if you decide to stop the other and if you do, I would love to see the wingmen posts opened up for discussion again. They are the "those who shall remain nameless" of OOM and those of us who don't live in chat can never get our questions answered. Katt had opened them up for me the day before the exodus. Then she was gone and they were imediately locked back up...

Judging by the poll it looks like the people calling for a LOP will have full control of the site then. Unfortunately, Iraq would NEVER actually release an article calling for the RV us faithful believe in.

I would not call that censorship, I would call that putting threads in the right area.

OOM is for IQD related threads, OOM2 for NON IQD related threads.

Not saying they can't be posted, just want them in the right place

on all the posts that you are labelling "heresay" why don't you insist that they have a very large 'RUMOR ONLY'at the very top of the post.that would allow anyone to not read being forewarned.might be good to create a catagory entitled rumor only.

That would work if members did not go down the road of being unkind to the provider of the information, which if you check seems to happen more often than not.

We have seem when a line is drawn, someone will cross it, and even more like to walk it.

This site was built for Okie and what he wants to say... and his friends...

It wasnt built to report what everyone says across the forums... that can be easily found by clicking on the dinar recaps button link on the left hand side of the forum.

I have no problem with the "hear say" posts continuing as long as they are open for discussion. If there are obvious inaccuracies I don't really know why those inaccuracies shouldn't be pointed out. If an "intel giver" has a track record of 0 for 1000 and we can help prevent someone (especially newbies) from going out and spending money that either they don't have or they can't afford to lose (I know it's everybody's responsibility to make their own decisions). I just hate hearing of people committing suicide (either physically or financially) based off of such info. However, after being in this for 5 yrs it is much simpler to weed out the bs. But it is entertaining, to a degree, to read it. Just my opinion. Of course.

On the one hand, it would make the mod's jobs a lot easier not having to deal with those who seem to consistently test to see how far they can push their disrespect before they get shut down. On the other hand, there are almost always some pearls mixed in with the "oysters." You just have to have enough patience to find them. No matter what we do we will make someone unhappy. I guarantee some will cry censorship if we ban the posts, and some will complain if we don't. Sure would like to hear from some of the lurkers on this.

My hope is that in doing this we can eliminate some of the posts by someones brothers uncles kid that had something happen... Then we later find out that it could not have happened. or a rumor that gets everyone super excited, only to be let down later. I thinking this will help us stay smart, informed and balanced out when we think and why. Just my thoughts

There are several points her IMO.

First in every "lie" there is a certain amount of truth.

Second How much of the "news" from like AK News is not hearsay? We have been told many times of the Misinformation coming out.

Third. Yea, it is a lot of BS and gets some upset and others blindly follow but many come here to read that even if they don't agree. Odviously, look at the amout of times that stuff is read + a lot of conversation goes on there as well, and a bunch of it good. Mant interact in these places Not only bash the statemnents!

Next Why would and who decides what is not allowed. No malcontent here but even Okie and the like have had the same results from the general population. Yea the site is named after Okie but there is never any links. Like I said no malcontent here.

Personally I like to read ALL that is brought and whole heartdly believe that a "Rumors only" would be a good place for that stuff.

Still allowing "member tales" to exist for our stories

So my vote is for a "rumors area" instead of dropping anything.

Anything out of place moved once, and notify the poster after (if still wrongly placed) Deleted

I agree that there would definately be a drop in traffic as the peeps that want to read that stuff would be forced to go eleswhere. That in it's own right would detract from the "personality" of this very very good site. Thanks for listening...rick152

Yeah, that would eliminate the, I have this friend, who has brother, that has an uncle, who's niece has this boyfriend, who's couson's auntie knows this doorman, that works at the bank, who's the manager of the don't know *#^# bank, told me that, the rv took place last night on elenin and we are now waiting for it to go through the other galaxies before it shows up somewhere here on earth. DISALLOW!!!

Ya know on the other hand you could just go ahead and lock everything every time something is posted and not have to have any interaction or feedback at any time. Surely! then noone would have to deal with anything someone else might not like or feel offended. At the same time why we just make sure all children get an "A" no matter what they do in school? Plus the mods woiuld not have to babysit anybody. What a utopian society we would have!

Ok, I have yet to vote because I keep going between Miskes point of ...if they want rumors, then they can just as easily go to the sites that generate them, or dinar guru or recaps. But on the other hand, there are those who love to discuss every bit of info... Well no they don't discuss do they....they dispute. A rumor room would just bring us back to all the guru trash talk. I have to admit, I see both sides.

I am so confused and my uni horn is starting to hurt.

I have voted, I'm afraid to post my thoughts on this because some of the mods have already sent most my post to OOM2, I love OOM2 but some stuff should be seen by all and even if it appears to not be RV related I can assure you a lot of the financial information out in the media is RV related even if most dont reconize it.

with all the other info and you can get a general idea.
I personally like the bank stories because its people just like you and me
out there with no other reason but to share.
To be objective and not get emotional about it is much easier
a total ban? what fun is that? What would I do all day......
The Iraqi news is controlled, it is also hearsay, and very boring.

I'm new to this forum. I saw a post that was about threads being locked down and then to this post. All the gurus offer is hearsay. Will this apply to intel then as well?

I say no. I thinks it's our responsibility to kinda take this so called Intel with a grain of salt. Sometimes it get's pretty deep and we need a truckload of salt. Anyways I do believe there is some truth in the hearsay and we just need to decipher what it is. If someone calls the RV everyday, common sense dictates that you determine that individual is full of it. If you take away the hearsay you take away our opportunity to pull whatever truth can be taken from it.
