1 definition = having or showing a lack of experience, judgment.

Before this appears to be a bashing - I am so naive about neurosurgery - I had to look up the spelling to make sure it was correct. Does that mean I am stupid - no - it means I am not trained in that area. Everyone has something they are good at - mine is not that.

The reason for this post is I see many new people - I looked and read for a long time before I saw something that made me sign up and log-in. I see questions asked that could put you at risk.

A few things - I am NOT A MODERATOR, GURU, SPECIALIST FOR ANY SITE, DEALER, PUMPER, or any other person of position greater than the general population here.

BUT

I am an American who has lived in a foreign country during Operation Enduring Freedom for Iraq while my soldier was deployed.

SECURITY SECURITY SECURITY

We would like to believe that everyone on these threads are just like us. Friendly and about to make a nice buck. The truth is, you don't know where the "bad guys" are hiding.

Posting your name, location, where you plan to bank, what bank you are already with, giving out of personal information, can set you up to become a target.

USE THE MODERATORS and ADMINISTRATORS to ask questions that are specific to you or your area. Or ask it as a general question, example:

How will we know where to cash out?

Don't say Hawaii, NY, Vegas - keep it general. There are already postings with information you can access on the home page - the site has pinned some of the important ones.

Watch what you put in your Private Messages(PM), and if you ever see something that strikes you as odd in a PM - contact a Mod or Admin immediately.

Just because everyone here claims to be waiting together on the same thing, does not mean no one is trolling to find people who will come into large sums of money. Keep yourself safe.

Now if this upset anyone, it was necessary. No one here wants to hear something bad happened to anyone. We all want peace, security, wealth, happiness, a way to help our families and others in need - but if you are not used to dealing with bad people - you could miss it when they come after you.

Ever wonder why people with money seem to become different, less friendly, less sociable? Once people/organizations/help centers /volunteer groups /schools /businesses /banking industries /family find out you have money - they ALL want a piece. Some yo ucan help - others will keep coming back for more and feel they are entitled to what you have.

These boards have been provided by the goodness of someone - but they cannot protect you, only give you information on how to protect yourself.

Be Cautious, Be Safe, and above all else -

1) NEVER NEVER NEVER let someone tell you it is now or never on a deal or offer - if that is the case - run and never look back. If they can;t wait 24 hours there is something they are not telling you

2) If it sounds too good to be true - it is

3) Always sleep on a major decision. The world will not stop while you decide. If that "opportunity" passes - maybe it wasn't meant to be.

4) Be care post RV about your personal information - like a vehicle purchase. You DO NOT have to give them your info in order to get a price. They want to look at your credit score to determine pricing - just say NO - IT'S A CASH DEAL. Since they DO NOT have any reason then to report to the credit companies - the auto dealer has no reason to have your SSN. Only the government can use you SSN as a form of Identification - and that can be done at the DMV.

5) When in doubt - ask a professional. The Mods and Admin here have soooo much information they have gathered to benenfit you - FOR A STARTING POINT. Every state has different laws about real estate, state taxes, taxable income for state - they have given you tools and questions to ask - seek a professional in your state for your circumstances, like a Tax Attorney with a CPA on site that is monitored. Ask the Attorney and CPA about banking options - especially if you are not going with the Big 4.

Sorry this is so long, but I read something on a post and I thought "Oh Oh OH NO - they shouldn't be saying that for over 20,000 people to read, and it scared me.

If anyone can think of something I missed - don't hesitate to add.

Mods and Admin - sorry if this gets you a box full of questions from individuals - but I know you can weed through and see to it that they are safely directed where they need to go. You might want to consider having a form letter for each subject you answer so you can use it when it is asked by someone else.

Good post, and excellent advice. The anonymity of the web is a two edged sword. It is easy to research a thing and find lots of info in pretty good but not perfect anonymity. On the other hand it allows the perps to prey upon you anonymously as well. Guard your personal information.

In my vocation we are required to secure all personal information of our clients. I have a locked file cabinet, and all correspondence stored on the computer or e-mailed is kept encrypted. There are some good resources on protecting your privacy elsewhere on these sites.
