From what I understand the US will have a new "rainbow" currency which has already been produced and is awaiting the change over from the current monetary system to the new one backed by gold.

Yes !!! rainbow !!! and it does NOT!!! have, "In G-D We Trust"!!!

It has nothing to do with what the currency is backed by. It has to do with a longer-lifespan currency than paper that is much harder to counterfeit. Pretty simple. Yet, just like with the dinar gurus, everything has to be tied to something else. The head of the IMF just used the washroom; must mean the RV in 24 hours. Unfortunately, in this case, the new currency replacement just makes sense. Hard to understand, I know.

The new currency is still a Federal Reserve Note NOT backed by gold. It is merely an anti-counterfeit measure.

GASP. That bill has In God We Trust on the back. Why do you try and spread false information GF? I guess now you can use those bills? I would have liked to see you buy your daily purchases with gold anyway.

You're welcome. As near as I can tell the new $100 note has not been placed into circulation due to production issues. It has been delayed a couple times and the last info I can find had no projected release date.

I heard that the new currency WAS going to say, "In Gold We Trust".

Good one Tim, but sadly there is not enough gold in the world to cover the hole our government is digging for us. We will likely never be able to use a gold standard, even at inflated gold prices.

Gold was worth less than $400 per ounce 10 years ago......I see a big drop in value coming.....Black Gold, Texas Tea watch the Beverly Hill Billies for my prediction of future investment.
