9 Lord,
all men seek for thee.
Jesus word to us therein:
ALL men seek for Me, but
all men do not know what they want. They
are seeking because they are dissatisfied without realizing that I am the object of
their quest.
Count it your greatest joy
to be the means, by your lives, sufferings, words, and love, to prove to the
questing ones you know that their search would end when they saw Me.
Profit by My Example. I
left My work – seemingly the greatest work – that of saving souls, to seek
communion with My Father…. Did I know that there must be no rush into the
Kingdom, that the still small voice, not the shoutings of a mob, would alone
persuade men I was the Son of God?
Why be surrounded by
multitudes if the multitudes were not really desiring to learn from, and to
follow, Me. Follow the Christ into the
quiet places of prayer.

Yes, Jesus is the Reason for the Season! Best of all Jesus is the Reason for Everyday....:cheers: I am going to share something that came to me while reading not to long ago..Some may agree and some may not...just my feelings. We have all heard about the pot of Gold at the end of the Rainbow...I Believe, "Heaven is our Gold at the End of the Rainbow"....just think about it, Eternal Life With our Lord, makes you the richest person you could ever dream of being!

Godsfool713, you are correct. Jesus was born in the fall in September, so we start on the wrong foot with the wrong date...
Thank you for the long post which enlightened me with some of your points. WOW.. So much to learn so little time...
Now, I believe to the real Christian we can celebrate Jesus's birth everyday of the year. We should be thankful He was willing to be the Living Sacrifice.
As far as a Christmas Tree, we have one and it is really beautiful. It reminds me of the beauty God put all around us. To watch the little children open their gifts, one of the most beautiful sights. Who would want to deny them? When you are a Christian and study God's Word you find out that things will not be made right until Jesus returns, which as fast as things are moving will not be all that long. Yes, we need to follow and go in the way The Lord leads us and that would also include not to judge the other person. There will be both good and bad until His return and this includes celebrating wrong days, etc.
Let's try to remember what makes it "Pagan is partly what's in our hearts". With a lack of understanding but an extreme desire to please Him, well, let The Lord Judge. We should be able to tell the difference between right and wrong, but wrong is to the one that knows better. There are far worse things happening that need attention than remembering what Jesus was willing to do for us and celebrating it the wrong day.
I was raised in extremesim and it isn't good and it breeds resentment and that's from experience. That saying "live and let live" has a really good deep meaning. (No not murderers, etc. There are exceptions to all rules.)

I just re-checked this post for the first time since I initiated it and am pleasantly surprised and blessed by replies here.
I've been vaguely aware of purity of eastern orthodoxy in comparison to roman catholicism, but this helps add to and clarify my awareness-- Thanks to ALL who participate with your perspectives and knowledge in all threads here...

Actually there are two possible times for the birth of our Lord, one around June and one around September. There are good arguments for both, although I personally lean more toward the June one as it seems to fit better with events described.

I will not try to analyze it.
Part of my family celebrate on December 25,the other January 7.
I am completely comfortable with celebrating my Lord Jesus Holy Birth...everyday.
