Just curious

I saw that on Yahoo as well... and it is attached to the gbp. If you run it through the usd there is no change. I wonder if this is because we are jacking around so much that it isnt showing or it is going to attach to the gbp instead of the usd as some have speculated.

Those are the exact same numbers I saw on Monday for a few minutes...then it changed back.. That number is significant. I called my husband and told him that number but by the time he got to it it had gone back done.

If you run that .0530 number to USD I got $84,800. per million IQD,

Getting better I would say

MONTEZ,

bing yahoo finance, click on it, you will see upper left get quotes, type in GBP/IQD enter, right now it is showing the "nomal" of about 1,880. the screenshot above is weird, but I read "weird is better than normal" once.


and did you see this,

that works out to about 1.1mil USD to 1mill IQD, and about 670k GBP to 1mil IQD,

Really weird I'd say.

I just check again.... its showing normal, but I did notice now that the weird rate is actually showing up in the "Days Range" column now...it was not earlier.

unfortunately this is a system glitch and the system auto corrects within 10 seconds, the rate here is .000530 not .0530 it is a glitch

According to YAHOO its a GLITCH and they are working on correcting it. Its been going on for weeks. PLEASE dont get excited when ONE site is showing random strange things for ONE pairing. IF its real, it will happen on all sites and all pairings. This is nothing different than a few years back when several sites showed the $1.49 or the other goofy changes. WHEN its over, it will be on the CBI and you will know its real Smile

Am I missing something here? Why is everyone concerned with the IQD/GBP rate? The way I have understood this to work is:

Rate is hypothetically $5.25USD attached to the British pound which is hypothetically 1.70 GBP/USD so the math would look something like this:


$5.25 Rate at release
x 1.70 GBP per USD
_________
$8.925 USD/IQD would be our rate at the bank.


Am I doing that right? And if I am, why is everyone worried about the IQD/GBP rate. That would be the rate that you would buy Dinar if you were paying with GBP, wouldn't it?

I don't think this is a glitch, but rather we are seeing some sort of testing.

Take a look at the bottom of this post to see similar "glitches" observed last night in UK.

This has been going on for several,several weeks at Yahoo Finance. If you look at the graph it never hits into .05 range.

Seems to me the ONLY place to be checking for a rate change is the CBI. However, according to whoever, we should not be looking there because it is will crash the site. Unbelieveable. Whatever. The sooner this puke train pulls into the station the BETTER! Smile

They dont need to "test" anything. Now maybe the yahoo site is doing some testing, fine, I will give you that. But the CBI does NOT need to 'test' or "ping" or anything to the forex consumer sites since they are not directly connected to them. These sites get their feeds elsewhere, so any changes are NOT directly caused by the CBI doing anything until its official.

And when was the last time you used that converter Doc? Because I know that we had that same link brought in many times when I was on DS and it didnt work back then. Right around the time they stopped selling it I believe. ;-)

NP, pdids...and my apology for being a smart-azz. This yahoo thing has been going on for over a month and I just get kinda tired of it being rehashed over and over and over and over....Yes I know that I don't have to read it, but maybe if posters would check out prior posts they wouldn't have to repost the same old YAHOOOOOOOOOOO stuff and waste the storage and bandwidth.
