Haitham Al-Jubouri: Parliament is not ready to receive the 2022 budget

Today, Wednesday, the technical advisor to the Prime Minister, Haitham Al-Jubouri, confirmed that the 1/12 exchange mechanism is insufficient due to the large expansion in demand, while indicating that the situation is not ready to send the 2022 budget .

Al-Jubouri told the Iraqi News Agency, "The budget is very important because each operational budget cannot spend more than 1/12 according to Financial Management Law No. (6) and it is insufficient due to the large expansion in demand, whether at the level of salaries and promotion allowances or at the level of Operational budgets needed by ministries .

He added that "investment budgets are also very important for development projects and projects to provide services to the governorates," noting that "the approval of the budget is important, but the current situation in the House of Representatives may not be ready to receive and approve this law ."

He pointed out that "the government has not sent the budget bill to the parliament so far and it is still in the cabinet," noting that "when the cabinet sent the emergency support law, it means that the budget is not currently ready and needs more time ."

Earlier, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi called on the political forces to work hard to agree on a formula to form the government, carry out their duties and work on preparing the 2022 budget, and fulfill their obligations towards citizens .
