An economist submits a proposal to the government to liquidate its internal debts

Baghdad / NINA / - The expert in economic affairs, Safwan Qusay, stressed the importance of zeroing the government's internal debts in light of its settlement of Kuwaiti foreign debts, proposing that the current government direct to zero its internal debts through a comprehensive financial settlement that the Ministry of Finance pays these debts by transferring part of its material property in favor of those parties.

Qusay said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA/ : “In light of the government’s success in investing the financial abundance resulting from the high oil prices to clear Kuwait’s debts and move towards repaying other external debts, the government can begin to clear its internal debts through a comprehensive financial settlement for the Ministry of Finance to pay these debts by transferring part of its material property in favor of These parties, and thus those debts are extinguished and the Iraqi economy liberated and given an opportunity to transform the outlook to be more positive to attract local, regional and international investments, which is the fastest way to absorb unemployment and maximize the ability of the Iraqi economy to compete.

And the economic expert continued: "Iraq's untapped geographical location and the presence of enormous mineral wealth is one of the most important sources of attracting investment now, and gradually Iraq can become the capital of the global economy in record time." / End 8
