Basra / NINA / - The first deputy governor of Basra, the engineer, Muhammad Taher Al-Tamimi, discussed today, Thursday, with the director of the JICA office in Iraq, Toyama Kei, the Japanese loan projects in the province.
” The first deputy governor said in a statement, that “the meeting dealt with a discussion of project files.” Funded within the Japanese loan to the province, which is the Basra Refinery project to transform its production residues from black oil into white products, which will provide thousands of job opportunities for the unemployed upon its full completion, and a project to rehabilitate the ports of Khor Al Zubair and Umm Qasr, as well as the project to rehabilitate the fertilizer company in Khor Al Zubair, and the project to rehabilitate the plant Al-Hartha Electricity, noting that "the representative of the Japanese agency explained that" his mission is to follow up on the progress of the projects implemented within the loan in Basra as well as the whole of Iraq, and to see the work carried out from them in the field."
Al-Tamimi called from the Japanese agency official for more cooperation in the electrical sector, and to support the efforts of the General Electricity Transmission Company within the Japanese loan by financing the establishment of 132/33 kv fixed transformation stations for electricity in a number of Basra areas, given the need for Basra to enter them into service during the new year 2022. .
He also called on the Japanese agency to finance and implement the Faw thermal plant construction project by Japanese companies by including it within the Japanese loan.”
He pointed to the discussion of the late large Basra water project, which is entrusted to the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities, and the ongoing partial operation of the project. The problem of adding additional funding by the Ministry of Finance to support the project to rehabilitate the first unit of the Al-Hartha thermal station in order to run out of the funds allocated from the Japanese loan for this station in particular./End
