Baghdad / NINA / - The Ministry of Planning organized a joint virtual dialogue session via the ZOOM platform with the expert team of the Chinese International Center for Poverty Reduction in Iraq in the framework of joint cooperation between the two countries, especially in the fight against poverty.

A statement by the Ministry of Planning stated that during the session, which was attended by the Iraqi ambassador in Beijing, Shorsh Khaled Saeed, a number of axes were discussed, the most important of which are the Chinese efforts to combat poverty, and the poverty alleviation strategy in Iraq, as well as ways of joint cooperation in the field of poverty alleviation between the two countries. .

For his part, Dr. Sabah Jundi Mansour, Director General of the Poverty Reduction Strategy in the Ministry of Planning, indicated the importance of joint dialogue with the Chinese side, which allowed those concerned in Iraq to see the Chinese experience in combating poverty, which is the first at the international level, noting: “China has achieved this The goal ten years ago to eradicate poverty was set by the United Nations, at the forefront of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
