Al-Maliki: The current government does not have the right to conclude agreements on the project of the Greater Faw Port for Investment/Expanded

Baghdad / NINA / - Head of the Law Coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, said that the current government does not have the right to conclude agreements on the Al-Faw port project for investment, attributing this to the fact that the government has expired.

Al-Maliki added, in response to journalists' questions directed to him through the media window on the website of the Media Office, about what was reported about intentions to refer the Grand Faw port project for investment in the absence of an elected government and parliament. Especially the strategy, including the new government and the elected parliament."

Al-Maliki considered: "The information circulated is dangerous and indicates the existence of efforts to conclude that deal in light of the caretaker government and the absence of Parliament."

He continued, “The current government has no right to conclude such agreements, because it is a government that has expired, and accordingly it must be postponed to refer all those projects, especially the strategic ones, to the new government and the elected parliament, because making decisions and concluding agreements in the absence of Parliament and a government that does not have the legitimacy to carry out such tasks.” It is a violation of the constitution, and represents a great loss for the country that will waste the future of such a strategic project.” / End 8
