Iraq is out of the ranking of the world's most innovative countries for the year 2020

The Global Innovation Index of the United Nations World Intellectual Organization (WIPO) showed that Iraq is free from the list of the world's most innovative countries for the year 2020.
And the organization stated during its statistic for the year 2021, that “the Global Innovation Index for 2020 measures the pulse of the latest global innovation trends and ranks the performance of the innovation ecosystem in 132 economies, highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of innovation and the special gaps in its measures, indicating that the report relies on a set of selected indicators, including effects on research and development expenditures or access to innovation funding, to gain a view of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on global innovation performance.
And she added, "Iraq was out of the rankings in the Global Innovation Index for the year 2020, while Yemen was below the Arab countries."
The organization pointed out that "Switzerland came first with the most innovative countries in the world with 65.5 points, followed by Sweden with 63.1 points, then the United States third with 61.3 points, the United Kingdom fourth with 59.8 points, Korea fifth with 59.3 points, while Angola ranked at the bottom with 15 A point is ahead of Yemen by 15.4 points.
In the Arab world, the UAE came first and ranked 33 globally, followed by Saudi Arabia second and 66th globally, then Qatar came third and 68th globally, then Tunisia came fourth and 71st globally, Kuwait came fifth and 72nd globally, Oman came sixth and 76th globally, then Morocco came seventh and 77th Globally, Bahrain came eighth and 78th globally, Jordan came ninth and 81st globally, and Lebanon came tenth and 92nd globally.
The organization confirmed that "international patent filings through WIPO reached an all-time high in 2020, an increase of 3.5 percent over 2019 that was driven by medical technology, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, especially with regard to COVID-19."
