Baghdad / NINA / - Political researcher Hani Ashour confirmed that: Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi will discuss in Washington the early elections before setting the date for the US withdrawal.

He told the National Iraqi News Agency ( NINA ) that: This visit is not limited to the withdrawal of forces from Iraq, but will include economic and financial files and new levels of relationship.

Ashour added that: The most important points are the Iraqi elections before setting a date for the withdrawal, not the other way around. We will see during the visit if America supports the elections or has a position on them.

He explained that if: the elections were postponed, then some agreements could be implemented. But if the elections do happen, the next government will have new opinions and ideas about the US withdrawal.

And Ashour indicated that: What is important is the American position on the idea of withdrawal.. It is serious about withdrawing from Iraq, but in an agreed manner by keeping advisers and experts and a greater role for the embassy and American companies operating.

Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi headed to Washington, DC, this morning, at the head of a government delegation.

Al-Kadhimi said before leaving the homeland: This visit comes within the framework of Iraq's efforts to consolidate a close relationship with the United States of America, based on the foundations of mutual respect and bilateral cooperation in various fields, and it culminates long efforts of intensive work during the strategic dialogue sessions to organize the security relationship between the two countries. The two countries are based on the Iraqi national interest./End 3
