Washington and Brussels agreed, today, Tuesday, to establish a joint council for trade and technology, in order to remove obstacles to bilateral relations and stimulate them, according to the “Novosti” agency.



The agency reported that European Council President Charles Michel and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen agreed with US President Joe Biden during a summit in Brussels to establish a Trade and Technology Council.



“We have decided to create the EU-US Trade and Technology Council,” von der Leyen said at a press conference today. Its goal will be to expand trade and investment, overcome trade difficulties, and cooperate for the benefit of our economies, especially in the field of digital technologies.”



Today, the EU-US Summit was held in Brussels, where US President Joe Biden met with European Union leaders with the aim of injecting new blood into the partnership between allies.
