Iraq wins membership of the Board of Directors of the International Labor Organization (ILO)

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced, on Monday, that Iraq has won membership in the Board of Directors of the International Labor Organization, while clarifying the details of granting this membership.
The ministry said, in a statement that the agency received a copy of it, that “ Iraq elected today, Monday, 14/6/2021, an alternate member of the Asia and Pacific Group, in the elections to the Board of Directors of the International Labor Organization in Geneva for the period 2021-2024, after obtaining 207 votes. out of a total of 225 to come third in the group after Bangladesh with a total of 210 votes and Oman with a total of 208.
She pointed out that " Iraq participated in these elections, which took place electronically in our capacity as head of the Iraqi delegation to the International Labor Conference (ILC 109) on behalf of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, where the session began with the election of the original members of the Board of Directors for the geographical groups (Africa, America, Asia and the Ocean).
