On Thursday, a member of the Parliamentary Legal Committee, Hussein Al-Aqabi, revealed the largest customs smuggling operation in the Kurdistan region, pointing out that there are oil and telecommunications companies that have significant tax evasion.

Al-Aqabi said in a press interview, "We have the largest customs smuggling operation in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, amid government silence," noting that "there is an unparalleled catastrophic tax evasion."

He added that "there are oil and telecommunications companies that have significant tax evasion," noting that "the current government is behaving as if it were a caretaker government."

Al-Uqabi stressed, "We can only evaluate the government's performance in negative terms," stressing that "there are no government successes that we can talk about."
